Mijas Costa is a 12 kilometre coastal stretch of modern tourist orientated villages including the popular La Cala de Mijas (Mijas cove) and Sitio de Calahonda. The area also includes Riviera del Sol, Calypso and Miraflores. Inland are several popular golf resorts including La Cala Golf and Mijas Golf.

The coastal strip has been developed since the 70's so new developments in the area are being built on the hillside and on the golf resorts.

Mijas Costa is located between Fuengirola and Marbella, being at least 10km away from the village of Mijas. Part of its popularity is that the area can be reached from Malaga airport in under 30 minutes.
